President,
National Coalition of 100 Black Women Throughout her career, Leslie A. Mays has exhibited strength in her commitment and dedication to equity issues pertaining to women. Her history is characterized by organizational leadership that results in positive changes benefiting the historically disenfranchised. In October of 2002, Ms. Mays was elected president of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW). In 1996, she began work with Shell Oil in Houston, Texas. As executive director of diversity, she reported to the chief executive officer and was responsible for establishing and leading the firm’s Diversity Planning and Strategy for U.S. Shell Companies. In 1999, she was promoted to Head of Global Diversity for Royal Dutch Shell Group. Currently living in London, England, she has been instrumental in establishing women’s equity groups around the world for Shell and also conducts group-mentoring sessions for women of color in the United States. She has also led the process of establishing a group global policy on diversity, which is applicable to Shell companies in more than 110 countries around the world, the first of its kind in a multinational corporation. |
