CELEBRATE NCBW
25th Anniversary

At our biennial conference this October, members of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women will convene to celebrate 25 years of advocacy, leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic development. As a collective body, we will also conduct the business of the organization, elect its leadership, and adopt the resolution that will guide the planning and programming efforts for the next two years.

The Biennial Planning Conference Committee is under the capable direction of Michele McNeill-Emery, an NCBW board member and president of the Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter. She has done an outstanding job in administering and executing tasks related to the planning of the conference.

For the first time, the leadership development retreat will precede the biennial conference by one day. It will be convened by the co-chairs of the Leadership Development Committee—Dr. Sandra Mack, NCBW board member and president of the Greater Las Vegas Chapter, and Dr. LaVerne Gentry, NCBW board member and president of the Central Mississippi Chapter. Special sessions will be held on chapter infrastructure, program development, fund raising and membership recruitment and retention.

We look forward to seeing each and every one of you as we celebrate 25 years and continue our commitment to the mission of this progressive organization.

Sincerely,

Marva Smith Battle-Bey
President

Discover Baltimore

Baltimore is the 12 th largest city in the United States and the members of the Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black women invites you to discover its colorful city on the harbor with an easy feeling that encourages people to explore our cultural treasures, waterfront views and world-class attractions! There’s so much fun to be had, we can’t wait for you to get in on it!

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is only one of the city’s many treasures, and we encourage you to venture beyond its boundaries into the neighborhoods that make our city unique, each with its own history, culture and cuisine.

Travel north for internationally acclaimed performing and visual arts, antiques, churches, and schools. Go east for even more antiques, shops, pubs, restaurants and a glimpse of Baltimore’s African American and maritime history. To the south, museums and historical parks afford fabulous views of the Inner Harbor and the port. And to the west, you will find our baseball and football stadiums, fascinating new entertainment museums, a tribute to one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time and the nation’s longest continually running marker.
