Description:
The donor wall will be two beautiful screens of colored glass located directly opposite the front doors in the two reception areas. Though the final design is still being refined, the concept involved recognizing the individual donations by etching the name of the donor onto a glass tile whose color will be determined by the amount of the donation (approximate size of the tile is 5 inches). These tiles will then be incorporated into the screen in such a way as to create a beautiful mosaic – the colors of the spectrum representing the women who have helped to make the space possible. The effect will be something like a cross between a mosaic and a stained-glass window; however, unlike these two, here each glass tile will be suspended from a grid, allowing for movement and thereby creating a kinetic, as well as a visual, spectacle.
